WHAT IS CCNP?

CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) is a prestigious Information Technology certification from Cisco Systems. This is a Professional-level Cisco Career Certification.

CCNP validates a candidate the ability to plan, implement, verify and troubleshoot local and wide-area enterprise networks and work collaboratively with specialists on advanced security, voice, wireless and video solutions.

This certification enhances the chances of getting a job in networking domain. Prior to CCNP course, the aspirants have to know Networking Technologies and complete CCNA certification. Basic Knowledge of Networking and TCP/IP is required. One should hold a valid and current CCNA.

SCOPE OF CCNP:

A major concern which motivates CCNP aspirants is the scope of CCNP R&S Certification has and the job opportunities offered after completion of CCNP R&S Certification. CCNP TECHNOLOGY PATHS :


CCNP ROUTING AND SWITCHING

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP R&S) 300-101 ROUTE, 300-115 SWITCH and 300-135 TSHOOT, a professional level certification in Routing & Switching Technologies. Post completion of the CCNA R&S certification, one is recommended to go for CCNP R&S certification as it allows individuals to learn about planning, implementing, verifying and troubleshooting local and wide- area enterprise Cisco Networks. The syllabus consists of three different modules namely Route, Switch, and T-shoot.

CCNP SECURITY

Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security) 300-208 SISAS, 300-206 SENSS, 300-209 SIMOS and 300-210 SITCS is also known as newly updated version of CCSP (Cisco Certified Security Professional). With the newly updated curriculum of CCNP Security aspirants will acquire professional level knowledge of Network Security Technologies using Cisco ASA Firewalls, Routers, Switches and IPS Systems. Post completion of the CCNP Security certification in depth knowledge about the ASA firewalls, VPN’s, IDS/IPS and AAA technologies gets known to the trainee.

CCNP CLOUD

The 210-451 CLDFND and 210-455 CLDADM are the certifications associated with the Cisco Certified Network Associate Cloud. With a CCNA cloud Certification, the candidate will obtain the skills to perform entry-level provisioning and support of Cisco Cloud solutions.

CCNP COLLABORATION

The 300-070 CIPTV1, 300-075 CIPTV2, 300-080 CTCOLLAB and 300-085 CAPPS is the certification associated with the Cisco Certified Network Professional Collaboration. CCNP Voice is a professional level certification in VoIP Technologies offered by Cisco Systems focusing on topics like Unified Communications Manager (formerly Unified Call Manager), quality of service (QOS), gateways, gatekeepers, IP phones, voice applications, and utilities on Cisco routers and Catalyst switches. The Cisco Unity Connection and Cisco Unified Presence application are also included within the syllabus of the CCNP Voice Training program.

CCNP SERVICE PROVIDER OPERATIONS

Cisco Certified Network Professional Service Provider Operations. Cisco introduced CCNP Service Provider Operations allows aspirants to gain deep knowledge and increase their understanding about maintenance of carrier class routing protocol environments, MPLS VPN, TE deployments and QOS mechanisms using Cisco IS and IOS XR.

CCNP SERVICE PROVIDER

The 642-883 SPROUTE, 642-885 SPADVROUTE, 642-887 SPCORE and 642-889 SPEDGE are associated with CCNP service provider. The CCNP Service Provider certification allows candidates to enhance and polish their understanding about scalable carrier grade infrastructure having a feature of rapid expansion providing support on newly managed services and customer requirements.

CCNP DATACENTER TECHNOLOGIES

The 300-175 DCUCI, 300-165 DCII, 300-170 DCVAI and 300-160 DCID or 300-180 DCIT certifications are associated with CCNP Datacenter. This certification allows aspirants to develop skillset required for designing, implementing and troubleshooting of data center networks. Post course completion, aspirants get in depth idea about designing, installation of the equipments, and maintenance of the data center networks which directly saves a lot of time and money of the aspirant.

CCNP DESIGN

The 300-101 Route, 300-115 Switch and 300-320 Arch certifications are associated with CCDP. This certification focuses on subjects like designing, creation of advanced addressing and routing, data center, and IP multicast multi-layered enterprise’s architecture. Post completion of the certification one develops a skill set including all the topics mentioned earlier.

CCNP WIRELESS

The 300-360 WIDESIGN, 300-365 WIDEPLOY, 300-370 WITSHOOT and 300-375 WISECURE are the certifications associated with CCNP wireless. The CCNP Wireless certification lays emphasis on advanced features which are necessary for implementation and operation of Cisco wireless networks in addition to mobility infrastructure.
